Respite Care Services

Compassionate Relief for Caregivers. Quality Care for Your Loved One.

At LifeLong Support, our Respite Care Services provide trusted, short-term care solutions that support both individuals and the families who care for them.

We understand that caregiving is deeply meaningful—but also physically and emotionally demanding. Our respite services are designed to give caregivers the opportunity to rest, recharge, and attend to personal needs, while ensuring their loved one continues to receive safe, compassionate, and high-quality care.

Respite care is not just a break—it is an essential part of maintaining long-term stability, well-being, and quality of care for everyone involved

What Is Respite Care?

Respite care is temporary, short-term support that relieves primary caregivers of their daily responsibilities while maintaining continuity of care for the individual.

Services may be provided:

  • For a few hours, a full day, overnight, or extended short-term periods
  • On a planned, scheduled basis or in response to emergencies
  • In a variety of safe, approved settings

Our goal is to ensure that both caregivers and participants experience support, balance, and peace of mind.

A Person-Centered Approach to Respite Care

At LifeLong Support, respite services are always tailored to the individual.

We design each experience based on:

  • The participant’s Person-Centered Plan
  • Individual routines, preferences, and needs
  • Health, behavioral, and support requirements
  • Family input and expectations

This ensures that care remains consistent, familiar, and aligned with the individual’s daily life, even when primary caregivers are away.

Our respite services provide more than basic care—we create meaningful, engaging experiences.

Support may include:

  • Assistance with daily living activities (ADLs)
  • Companionship and social interaction
  • Participation in community outings and activities
  • Engagement in hobbies, recreation, and skill-building
  • Support with routines, structure, and positive behavior strategies

Participants benefit from new experiences, increased independence, and opportunities for personal growth, even during short-term care periods

At LifeLong Support, every individual providing respite care meets strict standards to ensure safety, quality, and professionalism.

Our staff:

  • Are carefully screened and pass all required background checks
  • Are trained in CPR, First Aid, and participant-specific care needs
  • Receive training aligned with each individual’s Person-Centered Plan
  • Are educated on behavioral supports, communication needs, and preferences
  • Meet all DDA training requirements prior to service delivery

Where applicable:

  • Staff administering medications are certified Medication Technicians through the Maryland Board of Nursing
  • Staff demonstrate competency in all assigned tasks before providing care

This ensures that every participant receives care that is safe, respectful, and tailored to their needs.
